Is Heavy Bleeding After Insertion Of Coil While Having Fibroids Normal?

Hi, I have had a coil fitted today. The doctor had trouble getting it in because a fibroid was in the way. After about 5 mins of trying he got it in. It was very painful and made me feel very sick. I have been bleeding since it was fitted ( it was at 4pm ) is this normal? I have had it fitted for heavy periods and the menopause and not for contraception. Regards Elaine
