Is Hole In The Tonsil A Cause For Concern?

my 21 year old daughter has a whole in her tonsil. Is that urgent that we get her medical attention? We are on a Kaiser Permanente Health Care Plan and they are closed for the MLK Hoilday. We could bring her to and ER in our area but it would not be covered. We will do that if it is urgent. Please advise.
