Is Inhaling Of Burnt Plastic Have Any Toxic Effects On The Body?

I accidentally burned a knife with black handle in the oven. The black handle melted but i didnt realized what was burning until after I took out what I was baking. Should I eat the baked goods and how poisonous was the smell of burned plastic/rubber.
