Is Inhaling Plastic Fumes Dangerous?

Hello, my toaster was on top of my cooker and my daughter accidentally turn on the cooker the bottom of my toaster is plastic material which burn for more than 40 min because I was out, the smell is is very STRONG!!!! Is it dangerous for us to sleep in the house???
