Is Intercourse Safe After Delivering Baby Vaginally?

Hello, My wife gave birth two weeks ago vaginally, and did not tear. We are ready to have intercourse again, and she has no pain. Is it safe? She is barely bleeding, to the point were its very light and dark brown, almost like the end of a period. She says she is ready but I wanted a doctors input before I did anything.
