Is It Advisable To Drink Alcohol 2 Weeks After Tonsillectomy?

I had a tonsillectomy on January 6th, so it's been a little over two weeks now. I haven't experienced any complications and didn't even need the prescription pain medication (I'm allergic to most so I can't take them anyways). I still have been careful to eat gentler, softer foods and drink lots of water but I've been taking advil and drinking caffeine and haven't seen any negative effects. I was just wondering, what's the general rule for when I can start drinking alcohol again? Should I wait until I can't see any more scabs at the back of my throat, or is 2.5 weeks enough time?
