Is It Advisable To Have Induction During Third Trimester Of Pregnancy?

Hi am 39 weeks pregnant and am having this pain at a particular place in my stomach n I feel much pain when I lye down and also am tired now of carrying the pregnancy and want to meet my baby so can I ask my doctor for induction? I ve not had any problems since the beginning of this pregnancy n no health problems as well with me..so is it safe for me to have an induction... Thanks
