Is It Advisable To Replace Xanax With Norco For Severe Anxiety?

I am an Iraq and Afghanistan vet. I have severe anxiety and I have been on Xanax for years. Last summer I broke up my knee had knee replacement and was started in pain killers (Norco 10/325) for a couple months. I haven t took them since Sep 2012. So I am not an addict. However I noticed on the Norco I didn t need the Xanax at all. I could even go into a public place without the Xanax while I was on Norco. Is there a med I can talk to mental health doctor about so I can stop the 4 a day 1mg Xanax and switch to 3 a day Norco based med?
