Is It Advisable To Take I Pill Before The Week Of Menstruation?

Hi i had sex two days before with protection but now iam getting unusual bleeding, i doubt it is not periods, i want to take ipill but iam expecting my periods after a week. is it safe to take ipill within 72 hours and before a week of perids? please help.
