Is It Necessary To Have An Inward Exam After Hysterectomy?

I had a hysterectomy on Feb.2011. I was cleared by my doctor 4 weeks after but never had a inward examine? Do you have to have a inward exam after hysterectomy? I went to a very well known hospital and Dr. I recently had a vaginal cuff repair two weeks ago. Can I go in the swimming pool? I will see my Dr. in another week but just wondering now.
