Is It Normal For My Injured Big Toe To Leak Smelly Gunk Under The Nail Without Obvious Infection?

i recently injured my big toe by kicked a car frame. we cleaned it with peroxide everynight and i wash it in the mornings. however the gunk that is leaking out from under my toe nail smells badly. it does not appear to be infected but is pretty sensative around the area. is this normal?
