Is It Normal For The Toes To Curl Post Hammertoe Surgery?

Hi, I had hammertoe surgery a month ago. It was done on my R 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th toes. My toes still want to curl everytime I try and walk, the same as it was preop. My podiatrist said to give it time and they will lie flat. Is this normal? Also, my big toe also curls in when I walk which I told my doctor about, but he said the surgery he would do, isn t done on the big toe. I will be 5 weeks post op on Wednesday and the goal was to get me back to work by 6 weeks. I don t see this happening with the continued toe curling and pain. Thoughts?
