Is It Normal To Have Brown Vaginal Spotting Post Surgical Abortion?

I had an aspiration surgical abortion procedure done 1 week ago today. I have been having symptoms of bacterial vaginitis so I am taking metronidazole for 2-3 days now, but I still have a dark brown discharge no bleeding only discharge. Is this normal??
