Is It Normal To Have Heavy Menstrual Flow After Removal Of An IUD?

I had a Mireana IUD for 4 and a half years and had it removed 10 days ago. Is it normal for me to still be bleeding and clotting heavily? I am 39 years old, approximately 195 lbs, and had it inserted to stop my heay periods. Before the insertion, a D&C was performed.
