Is It Normal To Have Prolonged Bleeding After Taking Two Birth Control Pills For A Day?

I started taking birth control about 5 months ago. Early in my pill pack I was out of town so I wasn t taking my pills at the same time every day, and actually ended up missing a pill completely, which resulted in having to take 2 pills in one day. Since then, I ve been bleeding. I am not supposed to be on my period right now, it s not due for another week and a half. I was just wondering if it s normal to have regular period blood if you miss a pill. I ve been bleeding for about a week now, the blood color and flow varies. Sometimes it s bright red and other times it s dark brown. It mostly comes out when I use the bathroom. Any help would be greatly appreciated
