Is It Normal To Have Random Blood Clots?

I had an abortion almost a year ago now, it was very early stages. They used the suction method. The other night I had a blood clot but I wasn't on my period and I'm taking the contraceptive pill which I dont get periods with. Is it normal to have random blood clots?
