Is It Ok To Restart BC Pills In Spite Of Delayed Menstruation?

I stopped taking my birth control about 5 or 6 weeks ago and haven't gotten a period. I want to start taking my birth control again. Is it ok to just start taking the pill again even though I haven't had a period in about 6 weeks and I know I am not pregnant but am not sure when I am going to start menstrating again?
