Is it possible to have an auto immune disease with only an incredibly high ANA, but no other alarming blood work?
I am a 15 year old female who has dealt with joint paint, muscle stiffness, swelling in the joints, tingling and numbness sensation down either leg, purpling of toes, mottling of legs, photosensitivity rashes, random increased heart rate, decreased clarity in vision, fatigue, weakness, and nausea for the past 2 years of my life. Three years ago I had testing done because we had a family history of auto immune, at the time I was showing no signs or symptoms. My ANA came back as 1:1180 and speckled however it was written off just because I had no symptoms. Only a year later the symptoms began to develop and everyday I wake up in pain. We went back to the rhuemy after my pediatrician told me that we should update my blood work and look into the symptoms. My blood work all came back relatively decent, aside from a few of the C ANCA , P ANCA being on the high side of the normal range. HOWEVER my ANA was once again elevated but this time it was higher at >1:1280 with a speckled pattern. I am worried I am going to be written off as fine once again and left to sit in pain. I am not crazy nor am I paranoid. I’m not looking to be diagnosed with an auto immune disease but I do want answers. I don’t want to be told “We can’t find anything” by another doctor and told to take ibuprofen that provides no relief. I am 15 years old and should not be in this much pain by just completely everyday activities. (I’ve been told I have osteo arthritis, bulging discs, and all other sorts of things but have never been given an explanation as to why)...
