Is It Possible To Have Parasite In Tonsil?

Is it possible to have a parasite in your tonsil? I am treating myself for parasites and have felt something in my right tonsil for days. When I looked with a flashlight, I saw a white thread-like thing in the outer lining of my tonsil. I used a q-tip to try to scrape it off and nothing happened.
