Is It Safe For A Man With A Foley Catheter To Ejaculate, Or Can Trapped Sperm Around The Catheter Cause A UTI?

For a man using a Foley catheter, Is it safe to ejaculate around the catheter? My wife last weekend helped me ejaculate and two days later I had a UTI. Sperm came out around the catheter but i m sure some stayed trapped in the penis around the catheter tube. Could this have caused the UTI or i it safe to ejaculate with the catheter in? Thanks
