Is It Safe To Have Unprotected Sex In The First Month Of Starting Pills?

I started my birth control on May 9th (Zovia 1/35), had sex on May 26th and the condom busted. Should I be ok since I have been taken my birth control correctly the last 2 and half weeks. I have something from the place I got my birth control and it says to wait 2 weeks before having unprotected sex but then I have heard others say you must wait months. What is the correct answer?
