Is It Safe To Leave My Defibrillator Implant Without Power And Can The Defibrillator Implant Perform An ECG Through A Home Monitor?

I have a defib implant and the battery will run out soon....is it safe to leave implanted without power? I know most would want me to go through another surgery but I do lots of stuff for my heart and the device never has gone off. also can the defib implant perform an ECG through my Merlin home monitor?
