Is It Safe To Resume Intake Of Pill To Delay Periods?

I stopped the contraceptive pill in January after 14 years on it! I am now getting married in one month and I think my period will be due then unfortunately. Can I go back on the pill for the next month to delay my period a couple of weeks? I never had any problems with skipping it when I was on the pill before.
