Is It Safe To Stop Copaxone Abruptly?

My doctor recently told me I did not have to take my copaxone anymore, when I told him I didn t want to. He said since my disease has not progressed in over ten years with no new leisons, and the drug is designed to stop the progression, I could go off of it. He said we will continually monitor my MS with yearly MRI S as we have been and continue treating the existing conditions. Does this sound legit?
