Is It Safe To Take Actonel For Osteoporosis?

I am taking Actonel weekly for osteoporosis confirmed by a dexascan. First does gave me nausea and chills and fever. Now, after the 4th and 5th dose I am having pain that won t resolve on my side, on my ribs? Ibuprofen helps. My doctor says just continue as if it isn t there.
