Is It Safe To Take Dicynone While Having Renal Kidney Problem??

My 83 years old mother was experiencing continues coughing yesterday and also this morning due to phlegm in her throat. In each cough, the saliva contained blood and increasingly contained excessive blood in each cough this morning when she woke up. An hour later, after having some hot tea and she was finally able to control her tense, there was no more blood content in the saliva when coughing. She was suggested to take Dicynone to stop the blood, however, I wonder if Dicynone is alright to consume for her renal kidney problem? Please advise, thank you.
