Is It Safe To Take Glucotrol For Type 2 Diabetes?

My sister has diabetes and recently had a reading of 200+ reading in the morning. She has been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. She is currently taking Glucatrol. Is she possibly a Type 1 diabetic??? What is the best treatment for this, and should she be paying close attention to her diet ???
