Is It Safe To Travel By Flight With A Current Condition Of Child-Pugh A Cirrhosis Considering A Stable History Over The Past 10 Years?
Hello, Further to these questions about air travel, my wife developed cirrhosis some 10 years ago and at the time also had the esophogeal varices that were banded. That was 10 years ago and has not had any further bleeds. Annual checkups via endoscope have not revealed any more either. Her current ultrasound reads that she has Childs A cirrhosis with the portal vein at 10mm with normal flow. Borderline enlargement of the liver, mild liver surface irregularity in the left side. Generalised heterogeneous echotexture of the liver and enlargement of the caudete lobe. We have been hoping to travel to the UK later this year. Would there be any significant risk of aggravation or would it be negligible or non existent after 10 years of not having any issue please?
