Is It Safe To Undergo Hysterectomy And Cervix Removal Together?

I have a prolapse uterus and need a hysterectomy. My Dr wants to remove my cervix also, because he says it s in the path to the uterus, however I believe removing both is just making it easier for him without having to bypass my cervix. What are your thoughts, Was I just want to insist removing the prolapse uterus only?
