Is It Safe To Wean Off Metoprolol While Suffering From High BP?

I have been taking Metoprolol Tartrate 25 Mg. / one half tab twice a day since Nov 25th. I also take Losartin Potassium one half of 50 Mg. at night and Lasix one half 40 Mg. tab AM, and 12.5 Mg. Valim morning and at bedtime, and if I need more I can take up to 15 Mg. a day. The Dr. told me last Tues. to stop Metoprolol completely because my heart rate has been in 4o s range and bp is running between 115/40 s and 50 s. I started weening myself off the Metotoprolol and am down to about one fourth twice a day. My Home Health Nurse talked to the Dr. about this today, and they both want me to stop the metoprolol NOW. They don t think I ll have any problems. I m afraid not to take it before I go to bed. What do you think??? I could take a whole 5 Mg. Valium, which would probably help.
