Is It Safer To Take Prilosec Or Pepcid. I Used

Is it safer to take Prilosec or Pepcid. I used Dexiulant, Nexium and Prilosec about 2 years each for 6 years total. I was concerned of the side effects so I stopped 2 weeks ago. My acid seems bad, cough returned. I don't feel very well. Should I give it more time for my body to adjust? I have been taking Pepcid as needed along with mustard and apple cider vinegar. What do you suggest. Thank you.
