Is It Unusual For Xanax And Diazepam To Be Prescribed

Is it unusual for Xanax and diazepam to be prescribed for use concurrently. My consultant has put me on both but pharmacist is questioning it. Have been on Xanax for Many years but never diazepam. She is trying anafranil with me Instead of Effexor and before that seroxat as well.
