I had an MRI done on my left knee & have some issues that have to be dealt with. I have been diagnosed with RSD in that leg so am very concerned about having surgery & the RSD going into overdrive. The problems are: 1. Radially oriented through posterior horn of medial meniscus. Undersurface morre complex horizontal cleavage tear posterior horn & mid body. Partial subluxation of the meniscus out of the joint. 2. Lateral meniscus shows continuation of the mid body meniscus, related to old radial tear or partial lateral meniscectomy. ( I did have 3 previous scopes on knee, last in 1996) 3. Chronic ACL tear 4. Normal collaterals & quadriceps 5.grade 2 & 3 chondromalacia seen at patellarapex. Lateral compartment shows some focal grace 3 choondromalacia with smaller focal areas of grade 4 chondromalacia in the central aspect of the lateral femoral condyle. Medial compartment shows broader areas of grade 3 chondromalacia on both sides of joint. 6. Multilobular popliteal cyst is present with signs of inferior leak. Small amount of adema is seen in the anterior subcutaneous soft tissues of Hoffa s fat pad This sounds like alot of problems with my knee. I have been falling quite alot, one fall resulted in a dislocation & fracture of my right shoulder. Three months later my knee gave out again & I fell which resulted in completely breaking the bone in my shoulder. I had a complete reverse shoulder replacement done mid Oct which went fantastic. Then the 11th of Jan I fell off my porch directly onto my new shoulder & broke the bone which seats one part of the new shoulder. It is floating around slightly, but we are giving it 2 mo to see if it might find a happy spot & the bone will begin to heal. Finally, we are dealing with the reason for my falls. If this is too much of a question for you to answer, I understand. I just would like to know what your thoughts are on surgery to fix my knee. Am I looking at a partial of full knee replacement or just a arthroscopic surgery?? Any thoughts would be welcome. Thank you for your time. Cheryl Brooks
