Is Loose, Black Skin On Tonsils A Cause For Concern?

Hello, 2 weeks ago I had a very soar throat and found it hard to swallow anything, I continued as normal with out any kind of medicine and it went however today I noticed after eating a loose but of black skin on one of my tonsils. At first I thought it was a piece of food stuck in my throat but it is a piece of skin attached to my tonsil. I was wondering what it was and how dangerous it is and do I need to do anything about it
