Is Medication Advisable For Slight Elevation In Blood Pressure?

Went to the doctor this past week and blood pressure was 151/80 initially and she took it again before I left and the 2nd time it was 140/90. She immediately prescribed blood pressure pills. She said because I do didn t have a weight issue she thought it is a genetic issue and that I just hit 50. Do you think pills were prescribed to quickly?
