Is Oozing Of Pus Along With Severe Pain Be Normal With Abscess?

So last week Sunday I was in a lot of pain so Monday morning I went into the doctor he looked at me and said I had a hemorrhoid. He gave me an oral and rectal suppository to take. I noticed that Wednesday that as I wiped I noticed some pus so I called the doctor because I wasn t sure if this was normal. They instructed me to come in that same day. I was examined again and the doctor told me I had an abscess. Luckily it had already popped on its own so she didn t need to make an incision she squeezed out a lot of the pus and cleaned it up with a saline solution and packed it up with gauze. I ve been taking some antibiotics, Aleve, and also a sitz bath to help with the pain but I m still having a lot of pain and more and more every day the pus is going away. Is this normal?
