Is Persistent Swelling In The Testicles After Injury A Serious Concern?

My husband had his testicles crushed by someone, and has been swollen for two months now. Went to Dr. and she put him on antibiotics, she thought it was infection. Antibiotics are not helping at all. He went for an ultrasound today. Could this be permanently damaged or worse.
