Is Progesterone Suggested Post Hysterectomy?

I had a total hysterectomy, ovaries also. Can I take progesterone? I have trouble sleeping and hot flashes! No other problems. No history of Breast Cancer,heart disease or osteoarthritis. Thanks, Lillian The reason for my surgery was due to heavy, heavy periods and cyst on both ovaries.
