Is Removal Of Uterus And Ovaries Necessary While Having Multiple Uterine Fibroid?

my wife is 58 yrs old and has multiple utrine fibroids. she has been advised to undergo an operation for removal of uterus as well as ovaries. i would like to know if there is any risk involved in this operation. is it abolutely necessary to undergo the operation. in she has been having no prolems for the past four yrs ane recently she had a little bit if bleeding after which the dr. adised surgery. i would like to know whether fibroids of the uterus are cancerous, is there any complications in the operation. would there be any post operation complications or difficulties. would she be able to lead a normal life like other women of her age . including sex life. pl let me know as quick as possible. thank u.
