Is Shingles A Contagious Disease?

Hi we recently discovered that my husband has shingles. Prior to us realising I had applied cream directly to the rash. I have had chickenpox when I was a child so I presume I will not catch it again. But can I transfer the virus to our children through touch when I didn't realise it was contagious? They have been vaccinated.Regards Debra
