Is Small Painful Bump Below Left Ear Concerning?

I have a severe pain directly below my left ear. It was severe enough to wake me up about half an hour ago. I did a bit of research; it seems to be where the external jugular meets the posterior auricular. If I feel the area where the pain is, there is a very small bump beneath the skin. Should I have this checked out in person? If so, how soon?
