Is Spotting And Cramping After A PAP Smear Worrisome?

I had my first appointment w/ my ob/gyn she did a pap smear and sonogram but wasn't able to see much other than the sac. I had that done on thursday and friday I passed about a teaspoon amount of discharge, brown/dark pink reddish in color and have had some on and off spotting since then, today I am cramping and it feels like monthly period cramps w/ some spotting a little more red in color. I did call them friday and they said it was normal to spot after the exam but it's been 3 days, I'm worried.
