Is Spotting And Red, Stringy Discharge While On Mini Pill Normal?

Hi I am in the Mini pill and I forgot to take one the other day. Apparently I was due to start my period bit was still taking the pill but I started having spotting which has turned into stringy discharge red in colour overnight. I don't know what does that mean. Please help.
