Is Surgery Essential For Osteoarthritis In Spine Along With Herniated Discs?

I have osteoarthritis throughout my whole spine with herniated discs from L5-S1. About a month ago I did yard work and did something to my back. In order to stand I need a cane and it is so painful I want to scream. Once up I am ok, but eventually my middle back aches along with my neck. Is surgery the way to go? Email me at YYYY@YYYY
