Is Surgery The Only Option To Repair A Persistent Crater On The Shaft Of My Penis?

I had a pimple (large) on the shaft of my penis years ago and it seemed like the right thing to pop it. It popped just like a normal pimple but left a shallow crater like hole on the side of my shaft where the outer layer of the skin just didn’t ever come back together… now it just looks like a pimple sized crater where I can see the skin layer below the outer layer… it doesn’t hurt and never changes in size. Is surgery the only option to get my skin to come together again so there isn’t the appearance of a crater on my shaft? Ty.
