Is Surgical Removal Of Nodule In Throat Advisable?

I am a female 44 years of age - I recently had a strange sensation in my throat and went to see an ENT - he sent me for blood work and then for a thyroid scan (a nodule was found) he then sent me for a biopsy - came back inconclusive - he gave me two options - have the biopsy done again or remove the nodule - I am opting for removal of the nodule - some family members and friends are saying that I should get a second opinion from an endocrinologist - I am pretty comfortable with the ENT who is also going to perform the surgery - my sister's endocrinologist has done the same procedures with her as my doctor - Your Opinion Please
