I have a chronic cough since a terrible cold in April. Doctored on it a while, made appointment with primary, May 12, received penicillin shot, told to purchase Claritin, given instructions on use. Chest X-rays ordered same day; returned to primary June 26, results clear. Referred to Pulmonary Specialist. Saw him July 30, was examined. Breathing/Lungs ok. He reviewed medications. Said culprit was Benicar. Took me off that, prescribed Losarta; pharm. told me it was in same class as Benicar to monitor; returned for follow-up Aug. 27 (no record of scheduled appoint plus told he had left practice. Replacement had been hired, out sick, didn't know when he would report to office. Added me to list to be called asap. Today 10/25/15 I have NOT received a call. I called the office after receiving a recorded call 10/11/15, thinking this was the pulmonary office; returned call 10/12/15 "No, our office did not call." Inquired if new doctor had reported, "No."
Went to Patients' First, Nurse PR actioner prescribed Metaxalone and Naproxen regimen for 10 days. Still no relief.
Saw my Diabetic Specialist 10/8/15. Went through my usual update. He took me off Losarta and reokaced with Triamterence HCT2; cough persists. Plan to call my primary tomorrow for appointment.
I'm feeling that I'm caught in a maze and can't find a way out. My diabetic doctor told me to follow up with my primary and request a referral to the Pulmonary Clinic connected with Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (Tallahassee, FL)
I happened upon this as I was reading some article; so here I am.
