Is There A Difference Between Synthroid And Unithroid? My Insurance

Is there a difference between Synthroid and Unithroid? My insurance has moved Synthroid up to a TierII drug and increased the copay - my Endocrinologist said she could prescribe Unithroid. I was on Levothyroxine years ago and it was not effective. Is this the same drug?
