Is There Any Correlation Between Renal Failure And Lithium Intake?

I was put on Lithium as a teenager in 1978 and on it for approximately 30 years. I developed kidney renal failure approximately 12 years ago. I have been told by doctors that there is a direct correlation. Is this true? Is there a class action lawsuit situation in regards to this?
