Is Uterine Fibroid And Connected With Hypothyroidism?

Iam a 68 year old with a uterine fibroid since before menopause. my doctor has been doing an vaginal ultra sound every 6mo. to monitor the size. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Dec.2010 and placed on Levothyroxine 25mcg. In May i had another ultra sound and the fibroid appears to be larger. Menopause at 61. could there be any connection?
